San Diego UT Successful Living Expo draws seniors aiming to stay healthy and independent!
January 27, 2015
More than 7,000 people showed up Saturday January 24, 2015 at the 6th Annual Successful Living Expo at the Town and Country Convention Center in Mission Valley, sponsored by the San Diego Union Tribune. The expo featured more than 80 exhibitors and 17 speakers, including actor and author Henry Winkler!
The expo was loaded with a wide variety of resources for attendees to choose from, exhibitors ranged from health and wellness to financial and legal services. Medical centers such as Sharp and Scripps provided a wealth of information on maintaining a healthy lifestyle and some health screening services for attendees. Other exhibitors offered resources to help maintain an independent and active lifestyle such as captioned phone services, hearing aid devices, medical equipment and home or bath renovation services for more accessibility. Legal advisors, financial services and insurance providers were also present with several exhibitors attending. There were so many we can’t list them individually so here’s the link to the exhibitor list which has links to check out each provider.

Of course personal care was another theme at the conference and there were several in-home care agencies and care communities there as well as several government, non-profit and educational services such as San Diego County Aging and Independence Services, the Alzheimer’s Association and the Seniors Planning Council to provide awareness and a wealth of resources for aging related issues. UC San Diego and San Diego State University also attended with information on their successful aging and senior educational programs.
This year’s Successful Living Expo also did a fantastic job of organizing engaging speakers on a wide variety of topics. With 17 great topics scheduled it was hard to choose which to attend! Seminars covered the gamut of aging related topics, from healthcare and wellness to financial planning, care management and keeping your brain active! Henry Winkler also spoke about his history with learning challenges, his most recent success as a children’s author and the need to support the younger generations and provide them opportunities for success.
Here at MyCareMatch.com we’re always excited to see events that promote and provide resources on aging well, staying healthy and maintaining an independent lifestyle. Congratulations to the 2015 UT Successful Aging Expo for providing another fantastic event that anyone would benefit from. We look forward to attending again next year!
